Polish Pottery Stoneware is Rich in History and S
tyle!

To truly appreciate how wonderful Polish Pottery Stoneware is, you must first know a
little bit of it's history.

Polish Pottery production began as early as the 7th century when the Boleslawiec region
belonged to the Slavs. Modern Polish Pottery finds it's origins dating to the first half of the
17th century.

The Polish Pottery Stoneware sold at Pottery Adventure originates in Boleslawiec, (Bol-
e-swa-vee-ec),  a small village in the southwest section of Poland, at the  Zaklady Boleslawiec
and Vena factories.  The Bolesawiecian people have been producing beautiful and functional
Polish Pottery since the early 17th century when the Germans ruled the land and the area
was called Bunzlau.  After 1945, Boleslawiec became Polish territory.

Boleslawiec Polish Pottery  Stoneware is classified as high-density stoneware, a very hard
product shaped from opaque, white clay of excellent quality.  Due to the natureof this special
clay, the stoneware is very hearty and does not chip or crack easily.
